My Stolen Planet has be selected to join for more Festivals in Europe in the coming weeks. Very excited!

My Stolen Planet has be selected for the European Film Awards. Only 12 films out out hundreds made is up to here. We are super exited and grateful, that our film has been recognized in such a way! This month it also won the main prize in Melgaçao/Portugal  main prize @DER NEUE HEIMATfilm in Freistadt Austria and prize of the youth jury. 

Another prize for My Stolen Planet. We won the Silver Apricot @Golden Apricot Festival in Yerevan in the Regional Competion Section. So happy!

Yay, funding received for our "Life in the Shadows" copro project from MOIN Hamburg Film Fund. The journey continues!

May brings more Awards. Audience Award and Next Generation Award in Taiwan. Farahnaz Sharifi spent a great time at the festival! thanks for having us!

The director Brenda Akele Jorde of our project "Swimming through history - Freischwimmen" will participate in the training initiative ESODoc focused on developing documentary and cross-media projects with social impact. We are happy for the acceptance, which proofs the importance of our project!

Our Turkey/Norway/Germany/Netherlands fiction film coproduction "As Shadows Fade" just received and important infusion of funding from Hubert Bals Fund in the Netherlands. We are getting closer! 

Moments of inspiration, celebration, and tribute filled the air at DOK.fest München as our composer Atena Esthiaghi beautifully dedicated her award - the prestigious Documentary Film Music Award -  to the courageous women of Iran, and spoke of Iranian rapper, Toomaj Salehi.

March brings more good news. My Stolen Planet is nominated for the Roman Brodmann Preis, we will be showing the film  @Dokfest Munich and in Toronto @Hot Docs! 

Unbelievable! Golden Alexander for My Stolen Planet AND the prestigious FIPRESCI Film Critics Award @TIDF Thessaloniki International Documentary Film Festivial. We are over the moon!

And this weekend also brought the 2nd prize of the Giraffe @DWP, Deutscher Werbefilmpreis honoring the  Green Production for our Greenpeace campaign films. YES!

We are happy to announce, that our project "As Shadows Fade" received funding from SØR Fund Norway. This is important step to on the way to finance our project.

our particular desire to engage more in environmental topics and therefore green storytelling, resulted in campaign films for Greenpeace's agricultural team. Please watch the the first one in the new section "all things green" on this website. JYOTI Film thanks the entire team to create this important film with its powerful message,  especially our director Sven Bollinger for his tireless commitment and his great ideas!

Earlier this summer we coproduced   "A Spirit of a Thing" directed by Darol Olu Kae, shot in Berlin with DOP Nicolai Niermann for LA based production company somesuch, represented by producer Alli Maxwell. We had an amazing team that helped us bringing this piece of art to life. Enjoy the film as part of the exhibition "I've seen the wall", focusing on the legendary concert tour that led Louis Armstrong through the GDR in 1965 at DAS MINSK Museum in Potsdam, Germany from 15th of September to 24th of February 2024. 

Our coproduction "Life in the shadows" with Kamay Films just won the New Voices  Award and a special award for Best Pitch! So thankful and exited! The jury statement says: “This project successfully highlights the significance of portraying the narratives of marginalized individuals who are often unheard in society.”

Cannes Docs  @Marché du films was an amazing experience and resulted in winning the Alphapanda Marketing Award for "Ever since I knew myself". We look forward to the next steps of this gorgeous project. 

Filmmaker and producer Maka Gogaladze from Formo Productions will present our Georgian Co-Production “Ever since I knew myself” together with Lilian and Anke at the CIRCLE Women Doc Accelerator during the Cannes Docs Program! So excited!

Together with filmmaker Farahnaz Sharifi, we will attend DocFest Munich Master's Pitch with our Iranian Co-Production “Letters From Ms Iran”. Can’t wait! 

Exciting news! Lilian will be attending 2023 Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival Deal Makers with our Afghan Co-Production “Life in the Shadows”, together with filmmaker K.D. and Ilyas Yourish from Kamay Films. More soon!

New coproductions in the making! We received public fundings for our undisclosed iranian project, and look forward to work with amazing filmmakers from Afghanistan and Georgia. Stay tuned!

Les Enfants Terribles success story continues and earns another trophee.We are delighted! This time at the 1. Rome International Documentary Film festival. 

We were invited to Antalya Film Forum to consult the very interesting film makers and their projects. We also met our coproducer Nadir Öperli and director Burcu Aykar for our project in Development AS SHADOWS FADE, which won the Award for best adapted screening play at Antalya Film Festival. Let's make this film happen! 

It was exiting to show our short documentary about migration and tuberculosis on an TB expert symposium in Bukarest. The film wants to destigmatise the still existing fear of the illness. Commissioned by the German Health Ministry. More soon!

September brings a bunch of news. We just won the Filmprize for Global Learning @Filmtage Globale Perspektiven in Frankfurt with Lift Like a Girl.

Next month we will participate @DocsLisboa Pitch with our new Georgian Coproduction "Ever since I new myself" together with filmmaker Maka Gogaladze and pitch in Brussels @Stereopsia with our US extended project together with our new coproducer Sönke Kirchhof from INVR.Space. So exited!

Two more wins for "Les Enfants Terribles". Best Documentary of the Turkish Film Critics Association (SIYAD) Awards and Grand Jury Prize at the Pordenone Docs Fest in Italy. We are more than happy!

The festival journey of "Les Enfants Terribles" continues to be in full swing. This month only the film will be shown in 4 festivals. SIFF Bulgaria in the int. Documentary competition, 26. We just won the special jury award @Crime and Punishment Festival in Istanbul for Les Enfants Terribles . Super happy about the success journey of the film

A handful of new festival confirmations that we are proud to share after 5 successful screenings at IDFA with sold out cinemas. Starting with Zurich HRFF as of the 2. of December until 7th of December. Cinemamed in Brussels with screen the film between the 2.-11. of December as well, so does Cinema Verité in Teheran from 9.-16. of December. 

Happy to announce that RIDM Montréal will show Les Enfants Terribles in its Family topography section on the 14th of November. 

Our new coproduction with Liman Film and Solis Film received the German-Turkish CoDevelopment Fund (MOIN Filmförderung Hamburg Schleswig-Holstein, Medienboard and IKVS Meetings on the Bridge Istanbul) and the Best Project Award @Ankara Film Festival 2021. What a great start for our new collaboration!

More Festivals for Les Enfants Terribles, Guangneung in South Korea last week of October, and Camerimage i Poland screens the film on the 14th of November!

Les Enfants Terribles will have its German Premiere at the 38.  Kasselerdokfest on the 21. of November @19:30h in Filmladen Kassel and online for

6 days throughout Germany. We will let you know shortly when and where to buy tickets!

Whoop Whoop! BFI London Film Festival for Les Enfants Terribles on the week-end of the 8./9.th of October, West Lake IDF in China and IDFA just announced that they will show the film in the Best of Fests Section during the Festival as a Dutch Premiere

A shower of prizes hit us at Adana Golden Boll Film Festival  in Turkey last weekend with Les Enfants Terribles honored Best Film, Best Editing and a prize created particularely for our main protagonist Zeynep Çupur - the special jury mention

Lift like a girl wins three awards at the prestigious and oscar qualifying Cairo International Film Festival: Audience Award @CIFF 2020, Isis Award for Best Egyptian Film highlighting Women's Economic and Social Role @CIFF2020, Bronze Pyramid Award for Best First or Second Film @CIFF2020. It took place physically and we would have loved to be with our director and producer Mayye Zayed to embrace this special moment. Hopefully next time :-)

Lift like a girl wins the Golden Dove in german competition @DokLeipzig. We are over the moon and so grateful for this award!

Our french, turkish, german co-production Whitewash [WT] wins the Work in Progress prize @Antalya Film Forum, directed by Ahmet Necdet Cupur.

Daire Creative Key Art Design Award was presented to our film Whitewash [WT]. Jury’s deliberation: For the courage to face a personal story that tells of a strong and shocking social reality, having the ability to articulate reality in an intimate and always respectful language, the Daire Creative Key Art Design Award goes to Whitewash.
